The Barbers

RCC: Please give a little background or history on your business, and describe the business/services.

Both with an extensive background in the hair and beauty industry, Don and Alison Lovell opened their first Barber Shop in May 1999 on the corner of 162nd and NE 18th street in East Vancouver. With an idea based on bringing back that old fashioned barber shop experience and a hope that people of all ages would enjoy a haircut from Barbers focused solely on the art of barbering, just like that, The Barbers was born. After 25+ years, The Barbers has grown to over 30+ locations and is still local, family owned and operated rooted in strong family values and tradition. The Barbers preserves the comforts of the old-fashioned barbershop—classic and comfortable barber chairs, hot lather neck shaves, shoulder massages and grooming products developed by the industry’s top Barbers across the world. For over 25 years, The Barbers has been an industry leader in the Pacific Northwest, combining classic barbering traditions with modern amenities to set a high standard for service and experience. We are deeply committed to professional growth, investing in training and career development so employees advance their skills and build lasting careers. Equally important is our dedication to the communities we serve—supporting local sports, education programs, and neighborhood initiatives—making The Barbers both a workplace leader and a trusted community partner.
